Rodriguez – Can’t Get Away (Kungs Remix)

Into the Deep loves Kungs‘ work from the beggining. If the French DJ has proven us he could release some really good (what is now called) tropical house tunes, he shows us this time that he can also explore new fields with different melodies and styles.

He decided to remix Can’t Get Away of Rodriguez, a song directly digged up from the 80’s. You can hear it. But that’s a true success because you wouldn’t think of remixing this song at first. Kungs pumped and kept all of the funky spirit present in this track to give him a new youth. The small flutes and violins are still here to give all of that special rythm. An energic and really chilling bass line is there to make it all sound perfectly in harmony. The chorus will stuck to your mind and make you shake your body like a weirdo while you’re working behind your computer (trust us). It’s so efficient. Punchy, fresh and funky, a perfect mix. The artist from Aix-en-Provence proves again that he can still bring the sun and a typical summer spirit in his tracks even if we’re there hardly dealing with a big cold.

Lisa Mitchell – Wah Ha (Seekae Remix)

Seekae is an Australian DJ and a talented one. We don’t hear that much from what’s going on on the other side of the world but recently something huge has been released and it managed to reach our side.
This thing is a remix of Wah Ha from Lisa Mitchell. It is a truly touching remix on so many levels. First the voice of Lisa and its sexyness is just pure pleasure to listen to. Then this slow chilling mecanic beats in the background is perfectly build. It starts slowly and grows up step by step, new effects coming up on and on.
But, the very astonishing part arrives around 1’30. The vocals are lost in a echoes whirl and the electronic sound comes up slowly with some 80’s computer beats. All of this grows up and explodes in a chilling mecanic melody. It’s pure genius, everything has a reason to be where it is and the sounds and effects were cleverly thought. We’re big fans of this remix! Thank you so much Seekae for this work!

Vance Joy – Riptide (Kasbo Remix)

I don’t think I knew Kasbo that much before, despite his numerous fans. Well, if there was a perfect for me to meet him that must be this way, with this astonishing remix of Riptide.
First of all, I loved Vance Joy at first sight and especially his Riptide song that was perfect to warm up, waiting for Summer on this year 2013. Then, FlicFlac arrived and released a remix of this song. To be honest I didn’t really like it. I guess that was the whistle part that bothered me the most. Anyway everything could have stayed like that until a few days ago.

Kasbo, a Swedish DJ, release this remix of Riptide. Oh holy mother of god.
I immediately fell in love with that song. Kasbo gives his very own interpretation of the song and doesn’t hesitate to take it out of the classic way. He’s taking risks and it pays off! It’s a whole new Riptide that you discover. The vocals are quite intact with almost the same rythm but the melody is way slower. An arty chill house sound that goes all along. The guitar can also be heard but in a reallly discreet way. It’s only there to remind us of the song. The parts grows and grows and explode in a powerful electronic chorus. There you see the true talent of Kasbo, the chorus is not even on the classic chorus part of the vocals. He managed to play with all the different parts of the song and use them in a different angle. It’s only in the end that you’ll be able to hear the real chorus but you didn’t even notice it wasn’t there. This remix is a true masterpiece. Congratulations!

Tove Lo – Talking Body (Gostan Remix)

We’ve been away for a month, sorry for that, but we’re back and now living in Berlin. Where we’re sure we’re going to find plenty of good tunes 🙂

This being said, we start this come back with a really nice sexy song! I mean we love the rythm, the music but the lyrics make it all quite hot! It’s a remix from the Swedish Tove Lo who hit the charts last summer with Habits. You can have a look of the original version of Talking Body, it is quite different. The rythm is really broken between the chorus and the parts. With a little binary rnb/pop rythm.
Gostan made it all sounds more pop fresh and with a little dreamy echo sound that reach a kind of peak on the chorus. It makes you fly away, want to dance and rule on the dancefloor while staring at the one to seduce her/him. It’s a really nice remix and I prefer it to the original, which means that Gostan did a great work! That’s great because we didn’t hear him a lot since Klanga. So if you read this: keep up the good work man!

James Newton Howard feat Jennifer Lawrence – Hanging Tree (Stanwell Remix)

Stanwell succeeded where many failed with Hanging Tree.
For those who don’t know the track. The song is featured in the last Hunger Games film. Jennifer Lawrence sings this song and it got a little bit viral on the internet with people even predicting a possible musical career for the actress (let’s not go so far). Many DJs remixed it but we never found anything really convincing (don’t beat us, we didn’t listen to every versions!).
And then suddenly an unknown French DJ comes out and drops this remix.
He kept the beautiful voice of the actress with the same (or almost) rythm. The song is just rejuvenated with some fresh pop beats that are so typical to this tropical house style Kygo made world famous. The peak, reached with the violins, is still there. “I wanted to make a version that keeps the original sadness and melancholy but gives a new hope” Stanwell wrote. Well, he did well and that exactly the result we we were looking for.

Ben Howard – Small Things (Yaaman Remix)

I didn’t know Yaaman before this remix. He is a Ukrainian DJ from Kiev. He made a really beautiful choice when deciding to remix Ben Howard’s Small Things. It is truly a lovely song.
Yaaman managed to add just enough of beats and electric drum sets to make it sound a little bit more punchy without loosing the true spirit of the song and its melancholic soul. The rythm is perfect. Not too fast, not too slow, we could almost say that Yaaman did a real precision work there! We also especially love that xylophon-ish sound. We don’t really know how you can describe it but it really fits the atmosphere of the track. And that delayed guitar is just so catchy. Can’t get out of my head. Love it.

Dotan – Waves (Alex Schulz Remix)

Alex Schulz is a remarkable artist. We love his perticular chill house style that he always taint with a touch of romanticism. Listenning to this quiet guitar in the background or this great violins, you always follow him, his melodies. Could Be and The Girl From Paris were some of these kind of songs we noticed and put on repeat several times.

But despite ebing followed by thousands of fans, the German DJ doesn’t seem to have made it to the top yet. At least, we think Alex Schulz didn’t get the acknowledgement he should deserve for his great work. May 2015 be his year. Alex keeps on working hard, proof is this last gem he just dropped for the beggining of the year. Another charming tune, worked and perfected in each details. Also, it’s free so why would you deprive yourself of such a nice sound?

Mandeh & GuitK – What I Might Do (Ben Pearce Cover)

If you liked Milky Chance or Broken Back, you’ll like this one. Because you need to take on 2015 with a good start, Mandeh & GuitL just released this easy-going track for you. It’s quite impressive because the original song by Ben Pearce is closer to a hip-hop or house style. GuitK gave his own folk touch to the song so you can’t recognise it. A voice we especially loved in Miles Away. Mandeh gave the beats, the chill-house style. Not too much but just enough to give more rythm to the whole thing. A 100% made in France production that will help you on this first week of work of the year!

Klanguy – The Same Old Tears

Crazy, unexpected and disturbing. That’s how your next hangover could be described but that’s also how you can describe this awesome mix! Klanguy is an unknown French DJ but he really blown our mind with that set!
These beats are just insane! Insanely addictive! Remixing this song by Willis Earl Beal was a genius choice. The beggining is just so nice. You’re just enjoing the vocals with a nice piano melody. And then it just goes like if Klanguy was telling us “You thought I was going to let you enjoy this tune alone?”. It’s electric and powerful, catchy and so punchy. It’s an amazing work seriously.

Just Kiddin – Thinking About It (NEVA & David Pietras Remix)

Let’s keep on our Sunday Evening Blues playlist. This one is a freshy one. It’s light and melancholic as a happy full of pop Coldplay song. But it’s cooler.
The work of two people the Swedish David Pietras and the German NEVA. Don’t ask me who did what. We love that powerful piano rythmic. It’s punchy and explodes in the air in a thousands of colourful butterflies. The beats raise you up, you fly but still you’re a bit sad because the song wants you to remember your good old times. In the same time, you think “Fuck off” because you just want to go ahead and play with the butterflies. Yep, we’re two in our brain.
